Strawberry Automation Summit Held at Cal Poly
Cal Poly hosted the Strawberry Automation Summit on Jan. 11 at the Performing Arts Center. The all-day conference, attended by more than 200 strawberry growers, processors and shippers representing 80 percent of California’s strawberry industry, showcased the latest advances.
Student Wins Research Poster Competition
Graduate student Scott Cosseboom (Agriculture and Environmental Plant Sciences, ’16) won the research poster competition at the Pacific Division meeting of the American Phytopathological Society held in Riverside, California, in June.

Strawberry Center Update from Director Gerald Holmes

The Nuts and Bolts of Gray Mold and Fungicide Resistance
In collaboration with Farm Advisors Oleg Daugovish, Surendra Dara and Mark Bolda, the Cal Poly Strawberry Center organized three meetings titled “The Nuts and Bolts of Gray Mold and Fungicide Resistance.”

New Research Associate Joins the Cal Poly Strawberry Center
Kyle Blauer (Fruit Science, ’15) joined the Cal Poly Strawberry Center in November 2017 as a research associate in. He will manage the field research program. Prior to joining the Strawberry Center, Blauer worked in agricultural research with SGS North America.
