Student Wins Research Poster Competition

Graduate student Scott Cosseboom (Agriculture and Environmental Plant Sciences, ’16) won the research poster competition at the Pacific Division meeting of the American Phytopathological Society held in Riverside, California, in June. His research poster is titled "Grower fungicide use patterns for control of gray mold and powdery mildew of strawberry in California." Cosseboom’s research, funded by the California Strawberry Commission and the California Growers Association, has drawn a lot of attention from the industry and is helping growers manage Botrytis and Botrytis fungicide resistance. He is in his last year at Cal Poly and is considering pursuing a doctorate degree as well as industry opportunities.
