New Staff Hired to Further Research Advancement

The Strawberry Center recently welcomed two new employees to the team. Jack Rabin was hired to coordinate the Center’s internship and advancement programs. Rabin retired from a 35-year career at Rutgers University, where he served in various capacities including as an ag agent and associate professor and as the associate director of the Rutgers Experiment Station. In addition to his work with the Strawberry Center, Rabin will teach part-time in the Horticulture and Crop Science Department.

Seyedmojtaba (Mojtaba for short) Mansouripour also joined the Center’s team as a postdoctoral researcher. He joins the team supported by a grant from the USDA-Specialty Crops Research Initiative to investigate pathogen detection techniques and screen for disease resistance. Mansouripour recently earned a doctorate at North Dakota State University, where he studied blackleg disease of canola.
