California Giant Berry Farm Visit to Cal Poly
In April the Cal Poly Strawberry Center hosted California Giant Berry Farms owners Bill Moncovich and Nicole Palazzo and Executive Vice President John McPike. Moncovich and McPike presented a lecture to students on the current issues facing the strawberry industry worldwide. Moncovich and McPike’s lecture focused on the nuts and bolts of strawberry production practices, which begins with plant production in the nursery and ends with post-harvest handling. They also discussed current trends such as bench top production. Their visit kicked of the 2018 seminar series.
